Madeleine Planeix-Crocker

Originally from Los Angeles, Madeleine Planeix-Crocker is, since 2018, the curator of the "Warm Up Sessions", a series of encounters around dance and performance training practices. Among the guests of the Warm Up Sessions are (LA)HORDE, Marion Barbeau and Simon Le Borgne (Paris Opera), Maguy Marin, Bolewa Sabourin, Katerina Andreou, Sophie Demeyer and Katia Petrowick (Gisèle Vienne Company), Steven Michel, La Ribot, Petter Jacobsson (Ballet de Lorraine), Raúl Serrano Nuñez and Alvaro Dule (Ballet de l'Opéra de Lyon), Jean-Biche, and Mette Ingvartsen.
After having been in charge of communication for Lafayette Anticipations, Madeleine is currently pursuing a thesis at the EHESS (CRAL) on joint performances programmed in French cultural institutions in the contemporary era. Her interests focus on the production and curation of feminist, queer and intersectional performances.

Madeleine has also contributed articles on cultural democratization in the United States and Europe to the publications of the History Committee of the Ministry of Culture, for the Forum d'Avignon and for the magazine Citizens for Europe. She has taught at Sciences Po Paris, in the framework of the "Cultural and Creative Industries" course of the Public Affairs master's degree.

A summa cum laude graduate of Princeton University, with a specialization in cultural policy, Madeleine received a specialized master's degree in Media, Art and Creation from HEC Paris and an M2 from EHESS. There, she conducted a research-creation project on feminist performance and "safe spaces", in partnership with the association Women Safe. Madeleine has been practicing dance and theatre since the age of five, choreographing and directing, thus integrating artistic creation into her approach as a curator and researcher.
