With Toxic, an oversized copper spoon, Katinka Bock revisits one of the topoi of art history.
Inspired by the so-called ‘swimmer spoons’ of ancient Egypt or Alberto Giacometti’s spoon women, Toxic evokes a figure that, thanks to its horizontality, can receive or give both venom and antidote.
