Education
Numerous initiatives are carried out with the support and commitment of stakeholders in the education sector and their students. The Fondation has welcomed nearly 5 000 students and teachers since 2021.
Hors Cadre Residency
Since 2019, the Hors Cadre Residency has embodied Lafayette Anticipations' commitment to transmission and co-creation. Each year, an artist is invited to imagine an original project with a middle or high school class, in close collaboration with the National Education Academies, the teachers and the students. This artistic adventure takes place over the course of a school year and results in the collective creation of a work, fed by research workshops, exchanges and meetings at the Fondation.
After Marguerite Humeau with the lycée horticole Jeanne Baret, Boris Charmatz with the lycée Alfred Costes, Cécile B. Evans with the Lycée Suger, Neïl Beloufa with the Lycée Alfred Nobel, Éric Baudelaire with the Institut National des Jeunes Aveugles (INJA), we are delighted to welcome Jeanne Vicerial from September 2026.
Atelier des futurs
L'Atelier des futurs is a programme of excellence in contemporary art aimed at secondary school pupils. Launched in 2023, this two-year programme aims to broaden pupils’ horizons in contemporary art by providing access to those who would otherwise have little opportunity to engage with it. Through visits, workshops, meetings, group explorations and work experience placements, this arts and cultural education programme fosters curiosity, builds self-confidence and promotes equal opportunities. In this way, the Fondation supports pupils in a sensitive, challenging and collaborative exploration of contemporary art.
This second edition (2025–2027) is being developed in collaboration with the Versailles and Créteil education authorities, in partnership with Gérard Philippe Secondary School in Cergy-Pontoise, Jean Moulin Secondary School in Chaville and Gustave Courbet Secondary School in Romainville, as well as Paulette Nardal Highschool in Bezons and Jean Mermoz Highschool in Montsoult. The pupils are developing an ambitious project, designed in collaboration with the artists Sara Sadik, Inès Di Folco Jemni and Ethan Assouline.
Training
Lafayette Anticipations regularly takes part in training courses and organises events and meetings for professionals in the education sector.
For each exhibition, Lafayette Anticipations also offers teachers the opportunity to download a documentation pack (in french) that explores the themes of the exhibition in greater depth, provides a selective bibliography and suggests ideas and activities to help them prepare or extend their visit.
