OPERA III : ZOO "The Day of Heaven and Hell" is the first monographic exhibition in an institution of Pol Taburet, in which he both extends his painting practice and explores new media. . The works presented, for the most part previously unseen, bring together paintings, sculptures and installations in a journey that unfolds, from scene to scene, around the idea of interiority - both architectural and psychic.

The Fondation becomes a domestic interior in which phantasmagorical, strange or grotesque visions follow one another, plunging us into a reality close to hallucination. Drawing on a personal and collective mythology, in particular the tales passed down from generation to generation and cartoons, these visions evoke the imagination of childhood. The architecture is charged with presences: the inanimate comes to life, the monstrous hides in the shadowy corners, emotions gain substance. As the exhibition progresses, the strange settles into the familiar. One encounters fantastic beings in the guise of objects, humans or animals that are found between two worlds.

Their presence redefines an approach to reality that would dissociate it from the imagination. Born in the intimacy of the domestic space, but also of memories, dreams and fantasies, these spirit-characters escape from it to inhabit the rooms of the exhibition. OPERA III : ZOO "The Day of Heaven and Hell" is the last part of a trilogy of exhibitions that deals with the power of the imagination and its infinite capacity to create and bring to life chimeras.
