The Gisant, this absent body made visible by the layering of ceramic sheets, is stretched out on the ground, a rare posture in public space.
This horizontality, also present in several sculptures in the exhibition may evoke a sarcophagus, a being at rest, or the vulnerable bodies in cities whose daily newspapers cover their sleep.
