Anakonda, 2019 © Pierre Antoine
Anakonda evokes two colossal living beings: one, composed of a leather plate softened by heat and humidity and then dried, envelops the other, a rock from the Fontainebleau quarry, which notably supplies the cobblestones of Paris.
Traditionally a symbol of protection, here this enveloping refers rather to a slow killing in three stages: hunting, ingestion and digestion.
