Inclusion

The Fondation develops a solidarity-based approach to creation, through inclusive programmes in the social and medico-social fields.

Bien Commun

Bien Commun is a collective creation programme that places dialogue, exchange and working together at the heart of the artistic experience. Each participant is invited to imagine, make and reflect collectively in an open workshop, where ideas flow just as freely as actions. It's a joyful and supportive way of thinking: creating together to do good. The first edition of Bien Commun takes the form of an embroidery workshop, offered two Wednesday mornings a month.

Participants explore the motifs and themes of artist Mark Leckey, and work together to create a textile work of art. The programme brings together 9 associations and social centres. Each workshop is accompanied by mediators who take participants on a tour of the exhibition, and Galeries Lafayette staff who prepare the materials and welcome and guide the participants.

Created with Ce Que Mes Yeux Ont Vu, a social economy company that uses art as a lever against exclusion and precariousness.

Art & Food

The Fondation is hosting the ‘Art & Food’ project co-organised by the Salvation Army and La Chorba. Art & Food is a free distribution of breakfasts and lunches by volunteers from the two associations to vulnerable people, followed by a guided tour of the Lafayette Anticipations exhibition or architecture.

The Fondation is taking part in this project, along with neighbouring establishments in the Marais district such as the Centre Pompidou, the Bourse de Commerce, the Forum des Images, the Église St. Eustache, the Maison des pratiques amateures and the Musée Carnavalet.

Art therapy

The Fondation offers a space to host art therapy sessions run by healthcare professionals. As a place of welcome and dialogue, it offers an invitation to the world through access to contemporary artistic practices.

For the past three years, a special programme has been run with an art therapist for patients at the Centre de soin, d'accueil et de prévention en addictologie at the Centre Hospitalier des Quatre Villes. Adapted visits and discussion sessions are tailored to the exhibitions on show at the Fondation, and are followed by an art therapy workshop in a space conducive to calm and introspection.

These initiatives help to forge lasting links and use art as a vehicle for exchange and creativity.

Emmaus Solidarity Prize for Contemporary Art

The Fondation develops a partnership with the Emmaüs Solidarité prize for contemporary creation, which enables people supported by Emmaüs to choose an artist to produce a collaborative work with them.

Each year, a number of practical art workshops between the beneficiaries and the artist result in a work presented at the Fondation on a dedicated evening.
