Séphora Pondi
France Culture Student Novel Prize in 2025, while she made her directorial debut in January 2026 at the Studio-Théâtre with "Bestioles" by Lachlan Philpott, a play she had directed in 2023 as part of the Bureau des lectures under the title "L'Aire poids lourds", which was voted the audience's favourite.
At the Comédie-Française, she is a particular advocate of contemporary writing: she made her debut there with 7 minutes by Stefano Massini, directed by Maëlle Poésy, and participated in the creation of two texts written for the Troupe: Trois
fois Ulysse by Claudine Galea, directed by Laetitia Guédon, and Hécube, pas Hécube by and directed by Tiago Rodrigues (a play revived in March 2026, outside the theatre at Le 13e Art).
She also distinguished herself in iconic roles from the repertoire, including Kent in Le Roi Lear based on Shakespeare, directed by Thomas Ostermeier, the title role in Médée based on Euripides by Lisaboa Houbrechts, and Magdelon in Les Précieuses ridicules by Stéphane Varupenne and Sébastien Pouderoux.
Before joining the Troupe, she was an associate artist at Théâtre 14, directed a public reading of her texts, Mantra, at the TYPO Festival, écritures de caractères, organised by the Ateliers Médicis, and performed under the direction of Julie Berès, Benoît Bradel, Éva Doumbia, Rémy Barché, Sébastien Derrey, Myriam Marzouki, Mathieu Touzé, and others. This multifaceted career path began during her training, when she participated in the first season of the 1er Acte actor training programme at La Colline - Théâtre national in 2014, under the direction of Stanislas Nordey, while also attending the École régionale d'acteurs de Cannes et Marseille. In addition to her radio collaborations on France Culture, Séphora Pondi has appeared in Ryusuke Hamaguchi's Soudain, Alice Diop's Fragments for Venus, Bertrand Usclat and Martin Darondeau, as well as in Avant l'effondrement by Alice and Benoît Zeniter. She has just finished filming a series directed by Rebecca Zlotowski and Agathe Riedinger and will soon appear in Mémoire de fille by Judith Godrèche, an adaptation of Annie Ernaux.
