Oyjon Khayrullaeva

Born in 1996 in Bukhara, Uzbekistan. Lives and works in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Oyjon Khayrullaeva’s artistic practice is based on digital collage and explores the cultural heritage of Central Asia through memory, mythology and architectural ornamentation.

Working primarily with photographs of mosaics from Bukhara and Samarkand, she reassembles fragments to create new visual narratives that examine identity, gender and historical continuity.

Drawing on mythological imagery, Oyjon Khayrullaeva addresses feminist themes by reinterpreting inherited symbols and narratives from a contemporary female perspective. Her practice navigates between tradition and contemporary digital processes, producing layered compositions that function as speculative spaces of memory, resistance and transformation.

Oyjon Khayrullaeva’s work has been exhibited in numerous institutions, including the Bukhara Biennale, Uzbekistan (2025), at Neuyat / Nemolchi.uz, Uzbekistan (2024), at CyberQiz / Qizlar Collective, Uzbekistan (2024–2025), and at the Uzbekistan National Pavilion, Venice Biennale (2024).
