Located at the very top of the Lafayette Anticipations building, this final room presents a range of forms for potential worlds to come. The artists’ drawings demonstrate the extent of these potential worlds and set out the paths of other odysseys. This chapter brings together all the forces that have played a part in this exhibition, and continue to do so: from the stages of design and creation to the collective experience of this journey by the visitors.

Jean-Marie Appriou and Marguerite Humeau’s proposal for Surface Horizon is a dialogue between two imaginary worlds, a science fiction tale in which we witness the hybridization of human and non-human beings. This experience is itself located at the intersection of the multiple facets of the outside world and the infinite inner potential of each individual. The works gathered here constitute an opening that celebrates the power of the imagination. They invite us to invent new myths and rhythms, new emotions and collaborations with the living. The journey ends with the surface horizon, a space where expired beings meet those as yet unborn, a place that contains worlds ready to bloom.
