La Librairie is hosting the launch of Le Parlement de la recherche - ce que peut l'architecture (The Research Parliament - What Architecture Can Do), a book resulting from a unique collective experience bringing together 22 international architects and researchers at the Sainte-Marie de La Tourette convent.
Conceived by the Quartus Endowment Fund for Architecture, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, and led by the curatorial duo AUC and MBL Architects, this 48-hour closed-door event offered a suspended moment, outside of time, to rethink contemporary issues in architecture. The retreat gave rise to a dense and rich book: the complete transcript of the debates and exchanges that animated this Parliament of Research. It reveals ideas, commitments and questions shared around a single question: what can architecture do today?
Published by Éditions Caryatide in the Constellation collection, the book brings together contributions from: Yousef Anastas, Estelle Barriol, Iwona Buczkowska, Gilles Delalex, Nicola Delon, Susanne Eliasson, Ambra Fabi, Fabrizio Gallanti, Kersten Geers, Samia Henni, Djamel Klouche, Jeannette Kuo, Alexandre Labasse, Benjamin Lafore, Cédric Libert, Sébastien Martinez-Barat, Caroline Poulin, Carin Smuts, Pier Paolo Tamburelli, Charlotte Truwant, Chloé Valadié and Riken Yamamoto.

‘Outside of contests, competitions, juries, with no other goal than to be present. Yet something common bound us together, an uncertain place in architectural design that lies simultaneously in the act of research and in the act of design.’ AUC and MBL architects
