Inspired by the exhibition "Entrelacs", a woven research project presented at Lafayette Anticipations in 2019, this catalogue traces designer Hella Jongerius’s research into weaving and its potential in contemporary design.
Conceived as an extension of the laboratory set up at the Foundation, where experimental looms and digital techniques coexisted, the book reflects the dialogue between craftsmanship and innovation. Artistically directed by graphic designer Irma Boom, it combines risography and offset printing in a layout conceived as a continuous weave. Texts and interviews with Alice Rawsthorn, Christel Vesters, Hans den Hartog Jager and Anne Röhl explore the aesthetic, technical and political dimensions of the project in greater depth.
