Sarah Benslimane’s practice draws on and reinterprets the visual and graphic imagery of the internet. With references to hard-edge minimalism and the irony of neo-geo (neo-geometric conceptualism), her work explores the overload of information, images, styles, and narratives that characterises our digital environment. From this profusion, compositions emerge with saturated colours and unexpected combinations. Despite the diversity of forms and materials she employs, her works are distinguished by a deliberate emphasis on materiality in the face of digital dematerialisation.
Born in 1997 in Besançon (France), Sarah Benslimane holds a Bachelor’s degree (2021) and a Master’s degree (2023) from HEAD Geneva. She lives and works in Geneva (Switzerland).
