Inès di Folco Jemni

Born in 1993. Lives and works in Paris, France.
In her work, the Franco-Tunisian painter Inès Di Folco Jemni explores the concepts of exile and motherhood, and highlights various myths and ritual practices from around the world.

Her work explores the concepts of exile, transmission, motherhood and memory through painting, drawing and installation. Drawing inspiration from both classical painting and Yoruba mythologies and cosmogonies, she forges links between different geographies, time periods and cultural traditions. Her works offer alternative narratives that challenge dominant representations of history and identity.

A graduate of the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 2018, she has exhibited at venues including the Palais de Tokyo (Paris), the Magasins Généraux (Pantin), NADA (Miami), Deli Gallery (New York, Mexico City), the FRAC Lorraine (Metz), the Friche Belle-de-Mai (Marseille), Scheusal (Berlin), and sissi club (Marseille). Her works are held in the collections of the FRAC Île-de-France (Paris, Romainville), FRAC Sud (Marseille), FCAC (Marseille), and the Collezione Taurisano (Naples).

Her work is now held in several public and private collections.
