Etienne Blanchot

Etienne Blanchot was for 15 years the director and programmer of Villette Sonique, one of the biggest festivals for current music genres. The festival, which is held in Parc de la Villette in Paris, is internationally recognised for the quality of its ambitious programme, intended to make its non-mainstream music accessible to a wide audience.
More recently, Etienne Blanchot launched the Ideal Trouble festival, built on the same philosophy and, from its very first edition, enthusiastically welcomed by the public and press. He also took over artistic direction for electro music festival, Looping.

"Spreading the word" has been key to every one of his endeavours. For example, he was part of the team behind Batofar (an electro venue) and involved in the Paris International Short Film Festival (Paris Tout Court). As an artistic consultant, he has regularly contributed to privately-sponsored projects (Nexity, Public System, Red Bull Music Academy). He has also worked as a music journalist for France Inter and Libération.
