Boz Deseo Garden

Boz Deseo Garden’s interdisciplinary practice explores the links between materiality, the production of knowledge and colonial legacies, at the intersection of Afro-pessimism and psychoanalysis. Through sculpture, video, and critical writing, Garden examines the imprints of the transatlantic slave trade on Western systems of representation, whilst questioning the relationships between the body, matter, and desire.
Born in 1997 in Monterey (USA), Boz Deseo Garden holds a BFA from the California Institute of the Arts (2019) and an MFA from the University of California (2024). They live and work between Los Angeles and Paris (France).
