Nineteen Hundred No. 2 launch party
Monday 09 Feb 2026 from 6pm to 10pm
Free on booking
To mark the launch of its second issue, Nineteen Hundred magazine is taking over the Lafayette Anticipations Librairie for an evening of celebration and reflection on image, storytelling and women's sport.
Founded by Ysaora Thibus, world fencing champion and editor-in-chief, Nineteen Hundred was born out of a strong desire to look at female athletes differently. To think of sport as a cultural language, a space for creation and storytelling where fashion, art, and the resilience of body and mind come together.
Nineteen Hundred established itself from its launch at the 2024 Olympic Games as an independent, multidisciplinary platform offering a new interpretation of movement, identity and the representation of women in sport.
For its second issue, Nineteen Hundred continues and deepens this vision. Different worlds and movements intersect: the sweat of Muay Thai captured by director Quintessa Swindell, the suspended body of contortionist Celeste, the Olympic architecture designed by Zaha Hadid, the Atlanta majorettes, the young field hockey players in Belgium, and the committed voices of Manhiza for the freedoms of Afghan women.
The magazine's six covers are unveiled through an installation on display at the Bookshop and in the Fondation's Agora.
