As part of the Residency programme, the Fondation is presenting a first cut of Éric Baudelaire's new film, shot at the Institut National des Jeunes Aveugles (INJA) in collaboration with visually impaired and blind students who film their daily lives with their own cameras.
For this edition of the Atelier en Résidence, the Fondation is supporting the artist in the production of a film and a series of sculptures designed in collaboration with students from the Institut National des Jeunes Aveugles (INJA).
Shot within the institution, the film is based on images captured by visually impaired or blind students who document their daily lives with their own cameras. Between observational cinema and collective creation, the project questions the notion of gaze and the way images are constructed when the perception of the world relies primarily on senses other than sight.
The result is an expanded experience of perception, which redefines the visible through those who, without ‘seeing’, nevertheless teach us how to look again.
