Ed Atkins

To mark the publication of Flower by Fitzcarraldo Editions, La Librairie invites British artist Ed Atkins for a special evening.

In this first non-fiction work, Atkins displays a writing style that is by turns intimate, absurd, and moving. Drawing inspiration from confessional literature, his daughter's improvised games, the raw writing of social media, and mediocre artificial intelligence, Flower plays with the codes of personal narrative.

A major artist of his generation, known for his hyperrealistic computer-generated videos, Ed Atkins strives to make the most inaccessible emotions visible through the rawness of digital artifice. His work has been shown in major international institutions (Kunsthaus Bregenz, Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin, Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, Serpentine Gallery in London, etc.) and was the subject of a retrospective at Tate Britain in the spring of 2025.

This encounter on Flower is a rare opportunity to discover both the writer and the artist.
